Word Play

So, I was still getting stuck in the mornings, having a hard time getting into the flow. I thought I had solved the blank page problem by using an old appointment book as a sketchbook, but that wasn't really working. I had an envelope full of words and phrases I'd cut out of magazines and that gave me an idea
1. Close my eyes and pick a word or phrase at random.
2. Build a quick collage sketch around the word or phrase.
Note that these are not fully realized collage or mixed media pieces, they're just sketches. They aren't neatly cut and pasted, the idea is to quickly access images, using words as a trigger. Here are some pages from my little 5 X 8 sketchbook, still using the discarded appointment book I found on the sidewalk.
